Meridian IT Announces Launch of Next Generation Cloud for IBM Power

Watford, London, 18 July 2022 - Meridian IT, a global Services Provider, today announced that it is the first UK IBM Business Partner to offer the new IBM Power10 servers within its private cloud. “We are the first IBM Business Partner in the UK to be running production workloads on the new Power10 servers in a private cloud as a managed cloud service. The new servers are available to all customers wishing to run workloads on Power10 and take advantage of the new features,” said Andy Haley, Managing Director for MIT UK.

The new family of servers are based on the IBM Power10 processor, designed specifically for hybrid cloud environments. The IBM Power10 servers are engineered to be one of the most flexible and broadest range of servers, designed to help clients modernize, protect and automate business applications and IT operations. The new Power10 servers also combine performance, scalability, and flexibility with new pay-as-you-go consumption offerings for clients looking to deploy new services quickly across multiple environments.

The IBM Power10 family sits at the centre of a next generation cloud service from Meridian IT, providing unrivalled processing power. “The early deployment of IBM Power10 in our cloud along with the latest in IBM Flash Storage, featuring Safeguarded Copy and cyber security services, means that Meridian IT UK offers customers the best private cloud option to secure data and applications that run on iSeries or Linux now,” said Andy Haley.

Storage has a fundamental role to play in the Meridian Cloud delivery model, coupled with IBM Power systems.
